Narelle Kennedy AM

An experienced CEO, senior executive, Board director, policy analyst and researcher in the private sector, government and not-for-profit organisations. She specialises in innovation, urban and regional development, manufacturing, business competitiveness and fair trading.

Narelle has operated her own small innovation research and consulting business for the last 10 years. She is well-known as the founder and CEO of the pioneering business-backed collaborative research body, the Australian Business Foundation, Australia’s largest private sector funder and partner in industry policy and economic development research. Narelle has an Honours Degree in Social Work from the University of Sydney.

A recognised thought leader and commentator, Narelle was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to Australian business, and represented Australia on the business advisory council to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Narelle is an Adjunct Professor in the UTS School of Business, a member of Chief Executive Women, Chair of the Eidos Institute Ltd and serves on the Board of Regional Development Australia, Sydney.

Narelle’s career is a story of spanning boundaries and making connections that others don’t—- between social and economic research, for-profit and for-purpose enterprises, private and public sectors, universities and industry, academic scholarship and translation of insights for real world problem-solving.
