Debbie considers the many factors that come into play when people with a Lived Experience tackle their physical health.

Dr. Debbie Hamilton

Debbie is a lived experience mental health advocate and is actively involved in improving the NDIS psychosocial pathway. She is currently undertaking a PhD part-time. Her research seeks to explore choice and control for NDIS participants with a primary psychosocial disability through Sydney University.

 Debbie has a Bipolar 1 illness and has an NDIS package that has changed her life. She contributed to developing the MHCC’s ‘Reimagine’ website to assist people with psychosocial disabilities to navigate the NDIS. She sits on various committees, including the Wellways Clinical Governance and Safety Committee and the PharMIbridge trial advisory group of Australia (On behalf of the National Register of Consumers and Carers).

She has a Bachelor of Medicine (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Bioethics. Her background includes working both as a registered nurse and an emergency doctor.

She loves dogs, good music, and having a home.
